Remember me?

Hi, there, remember me? I haven't been on this site in months.... Facebook is mostly where I connect online with friends, old and new. Not that I don't enjoy M. I do. Just with my ADHD, that is just one too many connection points for me to get addicted to... So, I'm checking out the discussions and adding my two cents today. Stay in touch!

my changing avatar

Someone thinks I change my avatar a lot. I do - I admit it. I think it's a good way to let you see different parts of who I am. I've always been the kind of person that likes to be seen - not a behind the scenes sort. But that's also where my vulnerability comes in - people see you when you're out front, visible. It makes being a pastor's wife difficult at times. People tend to have an expectation that I'm further along than they are... Well, perhaps in some ways, but not in others. That's why w… Continue

walls can fall

So, this is pretty cool meeting new people on M. I reconnected a few nights ago with a missionary friend in Singapore. We were IM'ing just chit-chat and all of a sudden things changed. You know, like a wall came down. I think the Spirit can do that if we'll just open up and be vulnerable. No masks, no pride, just honesty. Maybe I'm going to like this blogging stuff after all :)

jumping off

When I was a little girl, I constantly climbed on things and walked on walls. Took a few spills along the way and have the scars to show for them. Later I jumped off those same walls and cliffs. But somewhere along the way I became a little more timid. I feel like I jumped off a wall today by joining M. Sounds stupid I know... But this whole Blog, internet chat thing, it all seemed rather hokey to me. So, I just decided to jump... I'll let you know what I think a bit later :)

An avatar is the little photo or image you pick for your site. For example, mine is me sitting behind a misty window on a train somewhere between London and Brussels. Jason's is Jack Bauer.

Holiness and Risk

A few hours after touching down back in Scotland from The International Mentoring Network’s Immersion experience in Orlando, I found myself in a conversation about a Methodist Church initiative called Holiness and Risk.

Is it okay if I tell you a little about this? It’s a really intriguing kind of thing that can emerge [...]

Tomorrow and How to Get There – The Futuristic

Tomorrow.  Face it with either fear or anticipation, it doesn’t matter which, it is coming regardless of our grasp of it.  Fortunes have been made marketing knowledge about tomorrow whether that tomorrow is 24 hours away or 100 years distant.

Fortune tellers make the promise that that can allay our fears with their prognostication [...]

Communities of Knowing

In his book, The Message in the Bottle, Walker Percy tells the fictional story of a train that hurried through the countryside. The commuters on board saw the passing scenery as little more than a two-dimensional background rolling past their windows.

One day, though, the train breaks down and the commuters have to disembark by a [...]
