Hey Jeff - Looked at the lists on your web site and noticed you were into King's X. Don't know many people that have heard of them. I am hoping you have had the pleasure of seeing them live. Amazing. Great to meet a fellow KX'er.
Obie Juan you don't recognize me? Wadup wit dat? :-)
I have never heard of the band, but I have certainly heard of the Pub. Don't frequent it often these days. I'll check out your stuff though; cuz I love all kinds of music fer sure!
I live in the Courthouse area of Virginia Beach near Kellam High, and have been here off and on since 1979. Permanant since July of 1992. Retired from the Navy down here. Go to probably the coolest church in Virginia (www.forefront.org); check out our worship the bands name is UNSED or Joe Heilman - good stuff! He plays in local pubs even now because each week we do cover songs of some sort. They used to play at the Hilltop Brewery until the owner found out they were a worship band. He loved their music, but I guess thought it weird - go figure? Anwyay, I agree with M-777, you should continue to reach out via your music after your established. Cool stuff for sure.
I have been to Isle of Skye bro - what an amazing place! I simply love Scotland - period. If you want something really close - check out Nova Scotia some time - it is almost as beautiful. Dubin and Ireland are equally beautiful as are the people in both Scotland and Ireland - a fine bunch they arrr.
Well.., gotta run. Maybe we could hook up. I am coming up to the DC area on the 21st of June to meet with a group that is helping to fund our church plant in Penna. Maybe we could meet up after the meeting. My meet is over at 3:00pm - just a though? If your interested, drop me an email through the site. Aight - peace out!
Hey Jeff!! Nice to meet you. Looks like we went to different HighSchools together. Spent a couple of summers in Skye. Lived in Virgina (parents still there) and live in Issaquah. Lets hook up. I'd love to hear more about your visions in the area of creative/worship arts. I'm engaged in the worship team @ Seattle Mosaic.
Hey Jeff, Even after your church gets established stick to the 'normal job', seriously! What a great opportunity for influence and connection with people. Talk about the ultimate 'christian counseling'! Being a bartender would be a perfect opportunity. I am training to be a personal trainer and my trainer and I talk a lot about how the job is really about being someone's counselor and the fitness is a bonus.
Anyway, In So Cal my husband, Dean (the Shaman), and I have an experimental church community (lots of stories to share about that!!) and we also own our own graphic design business. We work with Alex, too, helping to create the look and feel of Voxtropolis.com and M. Dean does all of the graphics on these sites and he and Alex travel around doing the Makers of Fire conferences. Dean is on the IMN navigation team too. Yeah, we have our hands in many pots! Anyway ... very cool that you are trying to build a new community. If you ever need any input let us know!! Good to meet you ...
Oh and you are a musician?? What do you play? Do you sing? You said you also play in clubs right? Our son, Jason, is a musician. He writes all his own music and sings, plays guitar and piano. We are trying to help him get started without needed a record label. These days I think it's possible. We just helped him invest in a whole bunch of gear so he could record and produce in a home studio. check him out ... myspace.com/jasonsharpmusic oh and he is on M now too. OK I will quit rambling!!
Thanks for adding me as a friend! So how did you get connected to M?
You have a fun profile! I like your 'political tendencies'! So you are gonna be a bartender? How cool! So what else are you up to in Seattle? Nice to meet you!
Bru! I like the photo... did you do it? Tight. Can we hook up over some caffeine sometime soon?
U guys having a gathering on Sunday's AM? Would you ever be available lead with us? We have some holes later. Late...
Hello Jeff, I saw that you signed onto the IMN/Seattle group. Wanted to intro myself. I live and work on the Eastside of Seattle. Hope to connect some time in the future. Interested in learning more about your "missional, incarnational, emergent church northeast of seattle".
