I will win!
(because winning is always possible when politics are concerned(?))
simply, it can be used in a good way - for example promoting welfare, equality, and giving a voice to the oppressed,
and in a very bad way or to put it bluntly - to oppress - look no further than Hitler or Starlin to note the harmony that can be struck between politics and oppression.
politics can be used as a tool for good and for evil, to promote freedom and to promote slavery.
an apolitical tendency (at least in my case) does not suggest a lack of appreciation for the moments when politics is used as a vehicle for good in as much as it also would not suggest an appreciation of politics being used as a vehicle for evil.
Rather what is suggests (again at least in my case) is an increasing disillusionment and lack of interest in political dogma and rhetoric which continually promises to solve all the worlds problems with a good set of policies. Perhaps this tendency is a result of studying these things in far to greater depth than can be enjoyable over the past few years . maybe its the academics I'm fed up with - however a good set of policies could never change the world, such a task could only be brought about by a mass change of heart. apolitical is not ignorance of the uses and indeed necessities of politics, i think it puts politics in its place.
Im LOVING the debate - i wonder if anyone else fancies joining in?

How can you be apolitical? Surely that means you are incapable of political thought?!
