This fall PHCC decided to support some local kids who needed it by supplying them with backpacks stuffed with the essential school supplies they'd need as outlined by the district. At my previous church, we adopted--formally--a school in our neighborhood....

mmm, mmm good

This coming sunday we'll be concluding a short sunday morning conversation called Mmm, Mmm Good, where we've been looking at the book of 1 Peter, specifically how God calls us to live good lives. Interestingly, the context of 1 Peter...

Entry 3 - Existence

"But what will you do? How will you get along? Where will existence take you?" And in that moment, upon the questions, Jacob was taken to a place he had not visited in the recent days. A place that was possibly only real in his dreams, yet he was sure it penetrated his awakened moments. He was on the shoreline, where the lake seemed as large as the ocean, as the opposite shoreline was beyond where his eye was able to take him. There on a rock, a boulder to be more in truth, he sat and watched a…

Entry 2 - Hidden

The alarm clock sounded before Jacob gave it permission. Actually, he did set it, but that was a day and a life before. Almost like it was another version of him, thinking he would want to get up. Or maybe it was the first versions way of sticking it to version two, as if to stress some displeasure with the expiration of version one and the illumination of version 2. Regardless, he sat up, rubbed his eyes, stretched, squinted, yarned, coughed, rubbed his eyes again and rose to his feet. He lived…

Entry 1 - A Tale of Discovery

Jacob was a boy not to much unlike most. Except for one thing. Jacob adored beauty. More than most of his kind. Each day as Jacob began his journey to the schoolhouse, he set off in the same way he did the day before. There were quicker ways, sure. But none like this particular way. He could have ridden a bike, or taken a quicker mode of several other kinds, but he chose to walk. He chose to savor what we could along the journey. There was one catch to all of the gloriousness of the journey. Hi…

Hi... I'm supposed to be getting ready, but I couldn't resist writing one more time... we have been in our current home for 21 years... and my husband and I both grew up here. I grew up in Tampa, and my husband in St. Pete. So, anything you want to know about the area, just let us know. We are not, however ancient, just life long Floridians.

Hi Chad,

my husband and I live in "New Tampa", in the Bruce B. Downs corridor. It is interesting that you should write, because I have checked out your church's web site before when they were searching for a pastor just to see what it was like. I would love to talk to you more! I am getting ready for a small group meeting at my house at 7PM, so I have to go, but I will look forward to talking with you soon.

Chad, saw your comment on Kevin's M. Miami is a strategic city. Welcome to M.
