You know who you are

Whether you voted for McCain or Obamah, whether you bleed red or blue...
we can all celebrate a historic accomplishment for the United States tonight.
Tonight we can celebrate with every person of color who has ever felt left out of this great American political and social experiment. We should all enjoy deep belly laughs of joy to know that the dreams with which Martin Luther King died did not perish with him. Tonight a nation awakened from this dream to discover that the world King envisioned is closer -- much, much closer -- to reality.
Whether or not we believe this was the right man with the right ideas, it is certainly a right thing in at least this one sense.
Celebrate.
Remember, there are places still on our planet where Martin Luther King's dream cannot even be had yet. We can continue to lead the world towards a day when an "untouchable," a person from a despised cast in society, can become leader of the world. President Obamah's victory tonight does not stall our quest for a world made more human in this way. In at least this one sense, it accelerates it.
I cried when I saw Jesse Jackson crying tonight. I felt more human. I hope for one moment, you can transcend your political philosophy and enjoy this moment.
Until the Nations know the freedom and equality that come in Christ...

My thoughts exactly. Regardless of political views, this is incredibly historic for our nation. To look back 50 years ago and to see him on stage tonight is amazing.....I can only imagine what my African American brothers and sisters feel tonight....you could see it in their faces. I teach in a school that is 95% black....we'll be rockin' tomorrow.
I had a conference a few days ago with a 15 year old African American student who has been giving me problems. In the conversation he mentioned that he has no one to look up to....his parents are crackheads (his words), he doesn't know where they are, and he lives with his grandma. We told him we believed in him....he said he didn't want to turn out like his parents.....and we encouraged him to look at our principal, a strong black leader, as an example. Tomorrow I'll remind him that he has someone else to look up to....someone who was also raised by a grandmother. Peace.

I love how Obama requested the help of those whose votes he had not earned yet... it's something we should all consider with even our worst critics.

I'm running off 2 hours sleep today after staying up to watch it unfold. Really glad I did though. It felt like a really significant moment for not just the US, but the rest of the world too.

We may celebrate the racial barrier that has been broken. But, we should never forget the Amercan annual genocide of 1.3 million babies. I know God doesn't (Psalm 139). Obama is the most radical abortionist that will have ever been president. That is not too human.

Three times as an Illinois state senator he voted that any baby born alive after a botched abortion should not be given any medical aide. That's pretty radical and not very human.

That's not actually true. He voted for that knowing full well that there was already a law in place guaranteeing that medical aid would be given.
Anyway, my goal isn't to get into a massive debate on this. Was just interested to drill down a little into your comments.
To be honest, my views don't sit totally in line with Obama on this one, but I do think he's on the mark in trying to move the focus more onto dealing with the causes that lead to abortion happening in the first place. That seems to me to be a sensible path.

You're right. Barack voted against humanity in Illinois.
However, pro-choice is not always pro-abortion. In fact, my sense is that Pro-choice is rarely pro-abortion. Because of this I don't see Obamah or any American politician as an abortionist. To get to abortionists we have to go beyond our shores to places like China and their practice of forced abortions. Having said that, pro-life Catholics and Evangelicals who voted Blue this time around will have a lot of soul searching to do.
